It's Not about Mud!
Mud Architecture in the Contemporary World: Lessons from Rural India

Speakers:
Siddharth Menon, Traveling Architect

With an Introduction by Bjorn Low of Edible Garden City

In the 21st century, ‘Green’ has become a buzzword that is overused, the meaning diluted. But what does it actually mean to be and live green - and how do indigenous communities in India live out this simple ideology? Siddharth Menon uses architecture as a vehicle to take you on a journey through different parts of rural India to understand how indigenous people built and lived. In the process, he hopes to raise some important questions on our interdependent and uncertain futures.

About the Speaker

Siddharth Menon is an independent travelling architect who builds in different parts of rural India using local materials like mud and bamboo. After graduating from Mumbai University in 2011, he worked as an architect at the Auroville Earth Institute and with Didi Contractor in Himachal Pradesh.

No cost for participants.
